AugUßt:6. The celebration of the O'Connell Centenary has commenced at Dublin. There was an immense attendance, the religious clement preponderating. Several foreign bishops and' Ultramontane deputies were present. August 7. '. At a ministerial dinner at the Mansion House Mr Disraeli said he was confident in the maintenance of peace if the foreign policy was conductsd with prudence and firmness. The Government feel the necessity of developing and consolidating the Colonial Empire by assimilating the interests and sympathies of the colonies, to those of the Mother Country.
