DUNEDIN.
This day. Mr W. A. Tolmie, M.H.R., died last I evening at seven o'clock. He had been ill some time, but nothing serious was anticipated^ , ' ,-: >,-Fred Wain did 100 miles in 23 hours :6# minutes, and won the stake of- fifty ponnds. The Mabel" disqualification case is coming up again. It appears that the mare, when the property of Hutchison, was disqualified for suspicious riding. She was then sold as a hack to Mr Doyle, and subsequently purchased by Dr Murphy, who is now making great with the " Committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club to get the disqualification removed.
