I—The Government Life Insurance- Department issues all desirable fo-ma of Policies. The Payment of every Policy is guaranieed by tJie Colony. Parti-; (ipation in Profits is authorised by the Legislature to be given to Policy-holders. 2- Premium rates are Slower th»n those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Pees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their Take, under a sp< tiUl regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrendcr-v^lue of the Policy is ex hausted in j. ayment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, arc guaranteed a cash surrender value of not Jess than 40 per cent, ofthe paid-up premiums ; and if for any reason the premiums ere not paid when due, a paidup Policy will be i?6ued, generally equal in amount to the [premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Benewal Premiums. 7-Liberal conditions as to travel. ling and residence. ' B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy. —An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, lonafide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour .of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, as if single; and' their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to durat on, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies. —Policies;■ effected .for the benefit of the wife and children of the Insured are absolutely pro-; toctcd from the claims of creditors to the; extent of £2000, provided that the premiums: qre payable during life, or any period not le«s: than seven years. If apportionment is not. made at the time, it can bo Subsequently made; by will. . > - | 11—Probate, &c., dispensed with; —When a claim under a Policy doe* not; exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense; with the production of Probate or Letters of; Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. ; 12—Prompt payment of Claims and no discount charged.
