got for a few days, as they are timbering up the winze. Golconda.—A fair show of gold was seen in the leader yesterday. The Bismarck starts crushing early next week.* -.

Whangapoua. — The Fanny sail* to-to-niglit. / ' Eleven hundred logs were got down to the booms, which broke away and a num:ber of-log* are'scattered over the beach. At a meeting last night, was adopted a petition to the Assembly for a member for Coromandel. Mr Cad man paid a merited compliment to the D S; -Gross for its adjournment (sic) while the meeting denounced the course of the Thames Advertiser in opposition. - ' This day; ; The Tokatea got a parcel of specimens on Saturday evening and more are reported to-day. Union Beach—Nothing important from this mine to-day. Quinton's claim—-Over 10 ounces per ton expected from the stuff in paddock. Whangapoua.—The lower mill started work to : day; Rafting logs from the booms is'going on. At Kennedy's Bay additional logs were got down by the late fresh. The Eob Boy cutter has arrived, and the Agnes is loading timber for Napier.
