. General Notices I^-EW ZEALAND. GOVEBNMENT LIFE INSURAWCEr" I—The Government Life Insur-, ance Department issues all desirable forms of Policies. The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by the Colony. Parti* cipation jn Profits is authorised by the Legislature to be given to Policy-holders. 2- Premium rates areHower than, those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Pees. charged. - _ 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy i» ex* hausted in payment of premiums. ; s—Absolute Security from Loss* —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value' of not less than 40 per cent, of' the paid-up premiums.; and if for aay reason, the premiums ere not paid when due, a paid-- ' up Policy frill be issued, generally equal in. amount to the 'premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace we allowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy. —An. Insurance Policy effected by;;, the Insured, btnajide on hiMown life, is.prpv - tected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to '•', a certain amount, which increases with its. duration. Thus, after it has endured for two - years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500.; after seven years, ' to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. Thk protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured, . . 9—Married women may effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, as if single; and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to dura* tion, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected • for the benefit of'the wife and. children of the Insured are absolutely protected from the claims of. creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not lets than seven years. If apportionment is not" * made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. - . 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or' Letters, of- ,; Administration, thus saving great exjMgytojatoi':^; the representatives of the Insured,.l^*^* I';*^ 12—Prompt payment of Claims and no discount charged.
