Wednesday, < The second half-yearly meeting of the Colonial Bank was held this afternoon. Mr Larnack, chairman, said that in December the accounts were 400,. now the number had increased to 1600. Of 166,915 shares- originally taken up, £14,000 was the deficiency not yet paid up out of the subscribed capital. No dividend was declared this half-year, but the chairman said they would declare one next year. l The gross pro-; fits for the . half-year were £11,746 3s 6i,: and the balance in hand, £3,322 33s 7d. The profit and,loss; account shows a balance of £4,723, after; paying all expenses and providing for badi and doubtful debts. It was recommended; that it should be carried forward to next; half-year. The report was adopted. Mr; A.; GV. Strode was Appointed a director; vice Mr Al W. Morris. A unanimous: vote of thanks was accorded to Mr L. O. • Beale, the nuraager at Dunedin. ; David. Proudfoot, contractor, ha 3 served? a writ on the Provincial Government for £20,C00 for non-fulfilment of agreement! regarding contracts. \ The Jockey Club have issued programmes for the spring meeting and the; annual races in March 1876 ; amount ofj prizes £1,650, including theDuhedin Cupj Handicap of 4£)osbvs. and a Jockey Club: Handicap of 200 soys. The Cup has been; increased by lOOjsovs. this year. \
