MANUKAU.
Breaking out stone from all sources oh the main • working level continues sufficient to keep 12 head of stampers going at the mill. On the new level from the Cure workings the drive is being pushed ahead, the reef hugging the hanging wall side of the drive. The reef has been broken and evidently disturbed by water-courses, but within the last few feet it has assumed a better aspect, and good looking sione is broken out; the reef is identical with No. 4 or black lode of the Cure, and is about 9 to 12 inches wide. Small veins shoot from the foot wall side, one of whioh showing gold the manager, Mr Dunlop, has placed men to drive upon, by following which, the cross-cut is sure, to intersect the lode known as No. 5. Sinking the winze to connect the two levels is making fair progress.
