The Grahamstown Fire Brigade Library has been further augmented by a donation of books and a bundle of Graphics from Mr W. H. Cassin. The room is r now being lined, and the firemen will soon be able to avail themselves of the advantages which it affords. The meeting convened by Dr Kilgour yesterday, to which we referred in last night's issue, was: dissolved after deciding rto hold a pubic meeting. A Pkovincial Govebnment Gazette, published on Tuesday, contains a notification that re-entry has been made by the lessor upon the ground of the Eldorado Goldmining Company (Punga Flat). There are several notifications under the Highways Act, and a list of tenders for services and supplies for the Provincial Government for the six months commencingVlst July, 1875. , . The other day an unpromising looking and tipsy old woman was being warmly pressed to abcdmpany to the watch-house one of the newly-ap-pointed policemen translated from the Garrison Force. The old lady had been taken there some 60 times previously, but this time «he resisted forcibly and rigorously. Just then one of the old- ( fashioned constables came up to assist. Cosgrave and Co., are calling a sale of drapery and- clothing at their establishments in Owen and' A'bertstreets. The stocks in these-establish-ments embrace £20,000 worth of goods.
