WELLINGTON.
Friday. Last night's Post states, on,,the, authority of a private letter, that Sir Julius Vogel was in robust health. To-night's Tribune says: —"We are exceedingly sorry to give an unqualified contradiction to the statement that Sir Julius Vogel has entirely recovered from his late illness, and was, at the date of the mail, actually in robust health. The reverse is unfortunately the case. On May 14, a letter which may be implicitly relied upon states that Sir Julius has beon overworked, that he was unable to walk across his room without crutches, and tha> he looked old and worn. He was fretting at his inability to move about, and even then expected to be in Wellington in November next." The Corporation officials have memo-; rialised the Council for a increase of salary.
