THE HOSPITAL BENEFIT.

A benefit* in-aid of the funds of the Thames Hospital will be given this evening by the Cricketers' Dramatic Club, who^will play r"-London Assurance," a much admired comedy in five Of the' merits of the amateurs comprising; this Club we have previeusly "spoken in terms of, the: highest commendation, and it will, therefore, be quite unnecessary to say anything further here on that subject; but it.may be mentioned that the Club had 'a dress rehearsal last night, on the Academy stage, and that tho dramatis persons • were capitally impersonated, each of the amateur act'or3 and actresses being letter perfect in their parts, and displaying a knowledge of ''.business," which amply testified to the careful study

which the piece has received. Setting aside the .attraction presented by the entertainment itself, ifc must not be forgotten, that the- Thames Hospital, an institution deserving the support of all, is to be benefited-by the proceeds ; and we expect to see a bumper house to-night, the Thames public heretofore never having displayed any reluctance to coming forward and according a liberal support to any. entertainment whatsoever which has ;been given to assist .charitable and; worthy institutions. A special feature in the entertainment will be the performance of the duet " Sainted Mother," from Maritana, by Misses Wiseman and ''Hunteri''-'-?ThS'/-':Scdttish :sßand': t'K'ave"'" Jarsb'' tendered their services on the occasion.
