A Curious Accident.

An accident occurred in Campbell-street to-day which might have resulted in serious consequences. One of Mr McQuillan's teams was being driven along the street, when just as it reached the Queen of Beauty hopper the leading horso disappeared as if by magic.. The shaft horse stopped, very naturally, -and it, was discovered that the road (it was on the left hand side) had fallen iri; there having been some excavation made there a long . time ago. The cavity made by this falling in was about seven feet deep. The horse' sustained no injury and was soon hauled out of >the hole, when men were employed filling it in from a heap of Bright Smile mullock.
