The lode cut on^ the new level has now assumed a well-defined appearance, the horse which divided it at the point of intersection having given out, and it may be stated that gold has been seen in tho face towards the Pride of Karaka. The reef is being driven on -from each side of the drive. This level gives the company fully 200 feet of backs, hence an immense output of stuff will be secured so soon as it is properly opened up, in viewof which the prospects of the company look very cheering.
