GOVERNMENT' LIFE INSURANCE. 1--The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable foims of Policies. The 'Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by tjie Colony. Participation in Profits is authorised by the Legislature to be given to Policy-holders. 2-Premium rates are lower than thoso of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Pees charged. 4—All Policies are! non-forfeit-, able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a: special regulation providing for the continuance in. force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is ex hausted in payment of premiums. . s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a. cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums; and if for any reasonthe premiums are not paid /when due, a paidup Policy will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Eenewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy- —An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, b&najide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency, laws to a certain amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200 ; after five years, to £500; after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, aa if single; and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—-Policies effected for the benefit of the wife and children of the Insured are absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums are payable during, life, or any period not less' than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. - ' 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with -T-When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with tho production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to tho representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt payment of Claims and no discount charged.
