QUEEN OF THE MAY.

Eetorting for the Queen of the May Company took place at the Herald battery to-day,, the result being 177 ounces of gold, ono ounce short of the estimate in Sa'urdaj'ij issuo of tho Star. When melted'at the bank of New Zealand a reduction of 1 ounce 13dwts took place, making tbe total return 175 ounces 7dwts of gold. This return is superior to that of the preceding fortnight, notwithstanding the fact that for a greater part of tbe time thoro hare been engaged only 15 head of stamps upon the stuff sent to the mill.
