GOLDEN CALF.

The mine manager reports that a branch lode or dropper from the main, reef ha's been discovered, and that it has been followed up, and is now supplying stone, to feed the Morning Star battery. The underlie of the reef,:which looks remarkably well, is opposed to that of the main reef. Work on the latter has been discontinued to follow, up the new lode, but a little gold is showing in it. Tho stuff' at the battery is looking well, showing up in fact, for 2 ozs to the ton.
