Insurance ' Department • issues ■ 'all' desirable forms of Policies. The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by the Colony. Participation in Profits" is authorised'by the Legislature to be given to Policy-holders. 2- Premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies, '. 3—No '' Policy or Medical Pees charged. 4—All, Policies are non-forfeit-able after one' full annual payment to the full extent oi their value,' under a special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy, for the original amount; until the surrender-value of the Policy is ex hausted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Ldss. —Insurers,. after^having pajd. three, full annual premiums, are guaranteed a .cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premium*; and if for aßy;reason the premiums ore not paid when due, a paidup Policy will be issued, generally equal in amount to the.Jpremiums paid, and often much in wcess. 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Renewal Premiums. w 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy* —An Insurance Policy effected by tho Insured, benafide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases witK its duration. Thus, after it has endured for-two years, it is protected to' the"' extent of £200; after five years,.to £500; after seven years, to £1000 ; after ten years, to £2000. This protection replies' only in favour of the personal representatire of-the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, as if single; and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands,'according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies —Policies effected for the benefit of the wife and children of the Insured-are absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that.the premiums are payable during life, or any period not, less than seven .years. ..If apportionment ; i3 not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by .wi11... . 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with —When a claim under a Policy does nob exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense' with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving, great .expense to the representatives of the Insured.' 12—Prompt payment of Claims and no discount charged.
