The Fern Flat Rush.

On Saturday we gave the result of a crushing of 951bs of stone from a reef at the above locality. It was lOdwts sgrs. This was lodged in the National Bank, and by their scales it gave lOdwts 9grs. The crushing took place at the Tramway Battery. A parcel of 99lbs stono from the 'iame reef brought down by Warden Fraser was crushed and treated at_ Quint's Reduction Works, and gave only 3 grains retorted gold. This latter parcel was broken .dovrn from the face in Captain Frasef's presence and sealed up in-a bag, which was not opened until the stone was treated. The discrepancy in the results is unaccountable. Mr J. Leydon has brought down 1401bs of stone from the same reef, which will be put through the Tramway single stamper to-morrow. .■' ' ■ •
