FRESH IN THE KAUAERANGA.
■'-' Although some'very heavy rain fell on Saturday, the weather since has been very much broken, alternating in sunshine, arid; showers; hence theJffesh in the Kauaeranga was not so powerful as was expected it would be, and the quantity of logs got down is not.yery large. In all there are not more than 100 logs at the booms. Considering, however, the length, of time which the Shortland Saw Mill Company's works have had to remainMn tedious idleness, during the dry month, they (the Company) are doubtless thankful for small mercies. The mill is now at work, the supply recently obtained having kept theuvgoing.up to date, and the ICO logs brought down during Friday and ; Saturday will no doubt' keep the mill employed till the next heavy rain fall. "3Jherc have, been about ,600, logs brought 'down during the last fortnight or three weeks. r, . ■ .■,-.";,,'-.
