An v error occurred in our local column yesterday which we hasten to correct. It was stated that the Union Bank of Australia and the National Bank tendered for the Manukau gold, and that the former was successful. The Union Bank, we may say, did not get a clip, and therefore did not tender • a»d it was the National Bank-that was successful against the tender of another local institution. The error was not discovered in time to make the corretion last night.

We lfarn tliat to-day an application was made to Warden Fraser by the Tairua Prospectors for permission to remove the pegs of their claim, in order to facilitate matters in the Court next week. Permission was granted, and the bailiff of the; Court and one of the shareholders of the Tairua claim will proceed to-morrow to fetch in the pegs, about which so much has been said, and on the size of" which the' first plaint 'has feeen grounded.

A tele&bam has been leceived to-day from town stating that the weather is so bad that the steamer Enterprise cannot leave. There will therefore be no communication with Auckland to-day.
