TAIRUA STONE.
The 2 cwt. of. stone brought down by some Natives .from Tairua has been treated at the Tramway battery. Retorfc'r;injf took place to-day, and the result is 4 dwts. 5 grs. of gold, or2ozs. 2dwts. 2 grs. ' to the ton, which is above expectations, as the stuff was not carefully picked. A more definite idea as to the .value of the ' sfone will, however, bearrived at'M'hen another and larger :paf eel" is crushod.
