I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable forme of Policies. The Payment J'of every. Policy is guaranteed by the Colony. Participation in Profits is authorised by the Legislature to he given to Policy-holders. 2- Premium rates are lower than those ef Private Companies. 3-No Policy or Medical Pees charged. ' ' 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a special, regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is ex^ hausted in payment of premiums. 5-Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender v»lu« ©f not less than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums; and if for any reason the premiums are not paid when due, a paid* up Policy-will be issued, generally equal.in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. : 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Renewal Premiums; ,7^-Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence., B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy. —An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, Una fide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws.to a 'certain amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200$ after five years, to t £500; after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women n»y effect Policies, dispoie of the money by will, as if single; and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected. for the benefit of the wife ' and children of the Insured are absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not less than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. r 11—Probate, &c.,"dispensed with —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Prohgte or Letters of Administration, thus saying great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt payment of Claims ani no discount charged.
