Work will be stopped in the main shaft next week, when the ends will be removed to No. 2 shaft, a temporary arrangement
rendered necessary t© effect certain repairs in the latter direction. Nothing has been done on the upper level, yet, for this reason. When the repairs are complete, the shaft will be- used as a pass, through which and by means of the long tunnel all stuff from the old^workjngs will be conveyed to the surface up-the-main shaft. The company's battery has been engaged for a jfe\v days past on a small parcel, but retorting will nob take place to-day., - j'Tf V 1
