Thursday.

The following gentlemen took seats on the Government benches to-day :—Mr Reid, Provincial Secretary and Secretary of Lands and Railways; Mr McKellar, Goldfields; Mr Green, Public Works; Mr Lumsden, of Southland ; Mr Stewart, of the. Northern District; Mr-.Davis, Treasurer. Mr Stout acts as Solicitor, but he did not take a seat, as the Executive Ordinance only provides for six members. Mr Reid proposes to amend the Ordir.ance to admit him.

The Times has received a telegram from Hokitika,; which states that the English mail arrived at Adelaide on the 27th.
