This day. In the Supreme Court to-day in the case of the Cross v. Ponsonby Highway Board, Judge.Gillies held that the existing. Board was-liable for.the debts - of- the preceding Board, but gave judgment -against the Cross on the ground that in the Act of 1874, which repealed the previous, ..there was no clause conserving fights created under that Act. . In the Bankruptcy Court, Curry, blacksmith's.discharge was suspended for three months. David Elliott, carpenter and builder,' liabilities £476; discharge .granted. R. H. Shaw, late station master Onehunga, j James Lamb, coal and firewood merchant; answers respecting the various accounts not beiog satisfactory, the case was ordered to stand over. The case of B. C. Murphy, gentleman, liabilities, £696, due bill discounters, tailors, etc., his Honor said, required investigation, and was ordered to stand over sine die.
