THE ALBION.
I saw some pieces out of about 3Olbs of specimens this 'morning, both from the the Young American and vKelly's reefs. Gold is freely disseminated through the stone from both reefs, and Captain Richards informed me that there it now a better quality of quartz showing in the face of Kelly's." From the tunnel level, the reef, vertically,, is intact 136 feet to the present working level, and the manager purposes stoping on this block. With regard to the Young American, the drive towards the wiuze is being pushed ahead, and when it is reached, the winze will be connected, and thus carry away the foul air which is at present in the winze. Captain Richards informs me that, on the men being driven out by the gas, he did not go to the expense of purifi* cation, because the drive being carried along at a deeper level-would soon pass the winze, when he could rise up the few feet and -effect connection and ventilation at the same time.
