MINERS' RIGHTS INQUIRY.

(Before Jackson Keddeli., Esq., U.M;)

The Commissioner stated that he would adjourn the further proceedings until.Tuesday morning, the Ist proximo, at 10 o'clock.

Mr Tyler said that-since yesterday's proceedings he had communicated, by telegram, with Mr James Mockay who was in Nelson, and had a reply in which Mr Mackay wished for a further adjournment for two reasons —one that owing to serious family affliction he could not leave kelson; and the other that he had received instructions to proceed as soon as possible to Wellington on Government business,; and was unable to state how long he would be required at the seat of Government, and therefore his inability to state when he could be present at the enquiry. Major .Keddell said that for the present the adjournment would take place as before mentioned, but thab he could not promise to further adjourn the enquiry, as Capt. Fraser and other witnesses would be inconvenienced by these delays.
