Splendid Find of Oold % at Waitekauri. ~"

/ Friday, May 13&2 p.si. I am glad; to be able to report a good find of gold here at last. A party known us Fqley's party, "in the Waitekauri, working a claim registered as the Golden Point, have cut the, reef in the 150 foot level, with a show that exceeds anything found here as yet. The reef is 11 j feet in the clear, strong, and well-defined, and the country firm and good. From, where the reef is cut there.is from a 150.t0 200 feet of a back. The men propose to send down two or three tons- of stuff to the lower field for. crushing, so that there may be no doubt about the matter. The stuff sent down by the Dan Leahy claim by Mr F. C. MitchelL I hare ascertained to have come from the 100 foot level, and it -is said that there it something pretty good ; but they are a very reticent mob, and.their head is not __ celebrated for telling all he knows. "L The reported find by Stewart and party, if the locality:can be. found,, .ought to be good. I know of sales made by them recently of 60 odd ounces, and 50 ditto; But where'are they ? and echo answers, "whereP" -•..■{" i v ;{;-\\
