THE UNA.
This company have been at great expense in opening 'the new or N6.:4 level, and have not yet attained the object had in view when operations were first commenced—the reef has not yet been cut,; although the contractors have expected to do so daily for the last three weeks. The tunnel*, is nowrin' about 1030 feet, the driving of which, together with incidental expenses, has been a very' heavy tax upon the resources of .the company, considering that at no time does a' call exceed sixpence, the maximum amount allowed by the rules. The reef which this tunnel is to cut, .has proved payable at each leYelj:notjJec?easing in quality in its downward course; and it is expected to pay well so soon as obtained. There will not be any of the difficulties in working experienced in the level immediately above this one, inasmuch as the ventilation will be complete, and the drainage is carried away by flumes.
