I—The Government Life Insur-s ance Department issues nil desirable forms of Policies. The -Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by the Colony. Parti* cipation in Profits is authorised by this Legislature to be giren to Policy-holders. 2- Premium rates are lower than those ef Prirate Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Fees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to' the full extent of their Value, under a special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy ii exhausted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, .are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums; and if for aHy reason the premiums, are not paid when due, a paidup Policy irill be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. ' - ■ 6—Thirty days of grace we allowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions «■ to travelling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy* —An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, lonafide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500 j after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, as if single; and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected for' the benefit' of the wife and children of the Insured aro absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums nre payable during life, or any period npfc less than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. ! 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with —When' a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. ■ ' 12—Prompt .payment of Claims and, no discount charged.
