Sudden Death.

A very sudden death took place this afternoon in i Shortland, the irifortunate victim being Mrs Lowndes, wife of Mr J. Lowiides, who runs a cutter between the <• Thames and Coromandel. The particulars we have been able to gather are very meagre, but it is said Mrs r Lowndes was unwell yesterday and kept to her bed, but was about in her usual health to-day, until about one o'clock when she was suddenly stricken down. The circumstances of the case are such as to warrant an enquiry being made into -the cause of death, which Trill probably be done.
