Sir George Grey on the Thames.
Our Superintendent appears to enter cheerfully into the spirit of his office, and does not shirk the concessions which are required of him —though they must be oftentimes as wearisome at an American levee, or handshaking match. Having visited Ohinemuri yesterday, when he was compelled to walk from Paeroa to* Mackaytown, Sir George commenced pcrigrinafing again this morning, being accompanied by Captain Goldsmith, Mr McTlhone and "others. The 'Jhames Hospital was visited, His Honor being shown through every ward and compartment. He expressed himself much ' pleased with the extent of the building and the cleanly manner in which it appeared to be kept. Having seen all that was to be seen there, His Honor wai conducted further up Shortland, to tho Court and Police Station. Thenctf he returned, and remained at the Government offices during the remainder of tho day.
