Horton, Brett, & Co., of the Coromandel Mail, are summoned for wages on Eriday next. It is understood the local proprietory. wish the plant at Fiji; the Auckland; proprietory desire W"aikato (sic), and the public generally wish it at Jericho.
The Golden Point have a small parcel of specimens. Tne City of Auckland have good stone to-day from the leader. Whangapoua—Another four hours' rain would likely bring down logs from the creek.
The wife of a man named Starkey died in childbirth last night—no medical attendant being at hand. Dr. Hovell is going over to hold an inquest. All the batteries are in full work. There has been a heavy iall of rain during the last day or two.
