This day. : Tokatea—The manager reports 30 lbs of picked stone from the Peep-o'-day leader, and gold is still showing in the stope. The crushing stuff is likely to pay well. Good crushing stone is being taken out from No. 1 rise in the Siege of Paris level.
Royal Oak—A few pounds of specimens from No. 1 leader.
The Smelting works startedj to-day ; a great success. ■ S?The Fanny .cutter has arrived at Whangapoua. The cases in the Resident Magistrate's Court were postponed till the 30th inst., owing to the absence of Major Keddell. The Julia Price schooner has not yet arrived; a fortnight has passed since she started for Coromandel.
