I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable forms of V olicies. r The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by the 'Colony. Participation in Profits is authorised by the Legislaturo to he given to Policy-holders. 2-Premium rates are lower than thoso of Private Companies. 3—No Policy 1 orJ Medical Fees •barged. 4—All Policies Tare npn-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a< special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-vtlue of the Policy it exhausted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not less than 40 per: cent, of' the paid-up premiums; and if for any reason the premiums are not paid when due, a paidup Policy will be issued,.generally equal in amount to the premium! paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace «» »ifowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence* B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy.—An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, bond fide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency law* to a certain 'stmount, iMjfpPincreases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after seven years,! to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. ' 9—Married women may effect PoMcies, dispose of the money by will, as if single; and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. *lO—Settlement Policies. -- Policies effected for the benefit; of the wife and children of the Insured are absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided, that the premiums aw payable duripg life, or any period not less than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can bo subsequently made by will. 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saying great expense to the representatives of the: Insured.. 12—Prompt payment of Claims and no discount charged.
