Tho discovery of gold in the«Tairua Country has been extended towards the So'uthone mile anda half from the Prospecfors' Claim. The stone is of such a character that it has h& to a large area of groundbeing taken up by those prospecting. Mr Thomas Greaves must b» credited with this. Ho has been in tho locality for some years, and i#*n experienced miner. Your correspondent was ori the ground-this morning, and is convinced from the gold he saw in the quartz, •that the Tairua Gold Field ira success. The Government has a party making it road byway ofPuriri, which will facilitate travellers passing on-towards the reefs. To-morrow I will return to the locality, and inform you further on the "subject.
