Warden's Office, Thamec, April 14th, 1875. A PPLICATION has been made by John £x. Cook for a LICENSE to construct a Water Eace for mining purposes, commencing at a point about two miles up the left hand branch of the Furiri Creek, and terminating on the sideling of the spur, northward of the junction of the two branches. The length of such race is two miles and a half, or thereabouts; and its intended course is south-louth-west. The mean breadth and depth of such Eace is 2 feet by 1 foot; it is capable of carrying Five sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads it is proposed to appropriate is Five. NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 27th day of May, 1875, a License will b« ■ granted to the said John Cook for the above described Water Bace, unless valid objection be in the meantime made in writing and lodged at this office not lesa than seven clear days before that date. A WrtGnx for a LICENSE to construct a Water |B,ace for mining purposes, commencing at" a point on the Creek or River, bein» the first main Creek to the eastward of the ground applied for tinder License, known as the Prospectors 9 Claim, Tairua, about half a mile above the south boundary of the said Claim, produced eastward, and terminating at a point above the said Creek or Biver on the Prospectors' side, about half a mils below the northern boundary of the said Cleiao, produced eastward, The length of such Race being one mile and a half, .or thereabouts ; its intended course is northward and eastward. The mean breadth and depth of such Race ia two feet by ore foof j it is capable of carrying Fire sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads, of forty inches each, which it is proposed to appropriate, is Five, NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 27th day of May, 1875, a License willbe granted to th« said W. C. Weight for the above described Water Race, unless valid objection be in the meantime made in writing and lodged at this office not less than seven clear days before that date. W.
