THIS DAY.
(Before W. Fkabbb, Esq., 8.H.) VAGBANCY. Margaret Miller was brought up on remand charged with a breach of the Vagrant Act, having no lawful risible means of support. The case had been adjourned in order that the police might make some inquiries as to the truth of defendant's statement that she was expecting employment.: Mr Bullen said the result of the enquiry had been that Mrs Mitchell was willing to take defendant, proriding she became a teetotaller. ° > His Worship told the defendant- it was a serious business, as he had either to send her to prison or to permit the police to withdraw the charge.Defendant promised to sign the pledge, and she was then discharged.
