Macxaytown, This day, 1.45. On the arrival of the Takapuna at the Puke there was a spill among the coaches. Bawdefl's four fiery steeds took fright, and got locked with Fisher's Nonpareil. After running some distance, Fisher's got clear, and Harry's ran and^eame to grief, breaking the shaft pole. Oapt. Best is up on Government service, to examine the river between the Puke and Paeroa, in order to ascertain the number of snags, prior to calling for tenders for their removal. Prospectors are hard at work. They have not yet shown gold, but are driving to drain the deep workings. They have got the .lead, but have been disturbed by a slip.
