QUERY.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib,—Will you kindly enlighten a bewildered creditor of the extinct Wells Quartz Mining Co. as to the manner in* which the Official Agent, H. N. Warner, has come to declare a dividend of one shilling and seven pence in the pound in the above Co.? According to his own Distribution Schedule, the assets are £169 3s; and the liabilities, including contra accounts paid in full, and costs, £418 11s. If any one will take the trouble to look into this matter, he will tee that the dividend payable under the statement referred to ought to be eight, shillings in the pound. Wherefore this great discrepancy ? More might be said re the above, bat at present I rest on my oars* Ceeditoe.
