Ohinemuri.
From some of those, who have come from Ohinemuri we learn thaiethere is nothing particularly new. Everything is very quiets the new arrivals daily appearing being the only break for those* who happen to be in what is graced by the name of the township. All accounts so far concur in one opinion, namely, that persons out prospecting have none of them come upon anything which warrants them in speaking highly of what they have seen. The color is met with, but payable quartz does not appear. And yet all accounts likewise concur in a very opposite opinion —that Logan's party have; got something. We have made it our business* to gather the opinions of the working men themselves as being the most likely persons to have formed the best idea of the country and what is to be expected of it; None are heard to murmer a suspicion contrary to the rumour that Logan's party have "got something," that, being the favorite expression for conveying the notion of an indefinite discovery, the limits of which commence from, payable gold, and extend to any imaginable riches. There is much in this common opinion which has gained ground, and if it is founded upon fact, there is any amount of room for hope in the auriferous nature of the country. Where gold has been found there is, it may be relied upon, more in the locality, expecially when, to back that find, there is the fact that minor discoveries in difierent directions have frequently been made. There are two bakers in Ohinemuri' now engaged in supplying the small community with bread, and the public-houses do a better business than for many a day before. It is stated that a large hotel, consisting of 18 rooms, is to be erected for Messrs Cashel and Bennett.
