PARAWAI VOLUNTEERS.
The Maori corps which has been re* cently formed, witlrMr Taipei as captafn^ this morning marched from Parawai t'<>; Shortland. They certainly presented a yery orderly and military appearance, for mere novices, and seemed evidently proud o£ their position. Heads erect^ and eyes front, their souls seemed wrapt Tip in tlieir business, - ijmtf the rank happened to Hj§rp|i~! g&udy red sash while on -tile inarch j picked,up by the last of the file.' w His first impulse was to leave his post to secure the article, but the consciousness of duty appeared to restrain him, for he would not leave his position, and motioned to the latter to keep it for him. The company marched past the Court-house, and in through Butt's yard to the American Theatre, where they were drilled. The men have been provided with arms «a$- accoutrements, and they will to-day receive about 25 unifoim suits, so that their great desire, namely, to make a good appearance oh the arrivalbf the representatives, will be gratified. .
