LOCAL BOARD OF HEALTH.

A meeting of the above Board for the Thames district was held at ths Council Chamber this morning at II o'clock. Present: A. Anthony, in the chair. J. llenshaw, J. Brown, D. Macnab and John Wilson.

Carried. This was ail the business, but ifc was undertook that the Committee should authorise the removal of the patient to some isolated position in the district if the medical attendant considered it safe and advisable. .

Ihe Committee, Messrs Brown and Macnab waited on Dr Payne immediately after the meeting, when the Doctor re. commended that the patient (a boy ten years of age) should be isolated; for which, purpose the house on the hill next, the Powder Marazme, Tararu Eoad, has been granted by Captain Fraser on behalf-of the vxoveimnent; and the Public- Health Officer, Mr Mason, has been instructed to deal wiih the case by facilitating the removal of the patient, or the family Provision will be made at the building which has b<>en chosen as a lazarette for everything required in the way of comforts or necessaries. It is not thought any opposition will be offered to the removal, as the mother of the boy (the father being absent) was anxious to,have the patient removed to the Hospital a day or two ago.
