MADAME ARABELLA GODDARD.
Madame Arabella Goddard, the unrivalled pianiste will give her first grand concert at the Academy of Music this evening. We look upon this visit of the artiste as a decided comIt will afford to residents an opportunity of hearing such music as is seldom heard even in second rate cities pf the old world. The fame of Madame Goddard has preceded her,'and a substantial evidence is afforded in the rush for seats, which we learn has been so great th^t very few chaire remain undis-
posed of. We hare at various times been visited by high, class artistes in qevery profession, but not one has Veen looked forward to with such intense interest as Madame Goddard. We need scarcely refer to the items of the programme of the first concert, which has been beforo our readers. The interest in the concert is not entirely, confined to Madame ''Goddard. ' She is:«ecompanicd by Mrs Sraythe, a beautiful soprano singer, _ Herr Dpeh.ler,.... an „.eniinenjfc. violinist, Mr Emnforii, a favorite basso, and Mr Skinner tenor: Mr Harcourt Lee conducting. Wo confidently expect to see a large and enthusiastic audience within the walls of the,. Academy tonight. ' •'■ -j \\ ".', ■■ '-:".?S '' :' j ■.-: ''A ,
