ANOTHER MEETING.
At half-past three o'clock the Stewards met again, inquiries haying been made at the telegraph office as to the time the telegram to McGee was delivered. It was found tbat the message had been delivered to Mrs McGee at 4.15 p.m.-—Mr McGee being absent from home. I twas therefore decided that the acceptance should be received, and the following letter was sent to the protestants :— Grahamstown, December 21,1874. GkkWiEmbn, —I am directed bj the Stewards of the Parawai Races to acknowledge receipt of your letter of this date, protesting against the owner of Golden Crown being allowed to run his horse in the forthcoming races for the reasons therein given. The Stewards": having freely considered this question have decided that Golden Crown is disqualified, because they have ascertained by careful enquiries of the telegraph officials that the owner of Golden Crown Kdd time ok Saturday evening last to notify his acceptance that evening by wire.—l am, &c, ",]■■■."■' J.
