The Tokatea hare had a wonderful run of specimens from the stopes in the Bismarck level for 16 days. .Nearly one ton of specimens were obtained. The company will crush the specimens and picked stone on Tuesday, when the amount of gold lodged will exceed 1000 ounces. The directors fear they will lose the services of the mine manager, and, as a consequence, will be likely to increase his salary at the rate of £500 annually from to-day. The Koyal Oak is looking better, they got over lOOlbs of specimens for the week.
Wilson, the Plutus carpenter, who slipped down, the sideling near the mill, has paid his last penalty. An inquest is going on, and some [strange revelations are expected. Over 1000 ounces of gold from various claims was lodged at the Bank of New Zealand to-day.
