AtrcKUND, This day. The final firing for choice of four colonial representatives, resulted as follows :— > Skinner, 88 ; Leigh, 86; Partington, 83; Hay, 83; Payne, 82; Morrow, 81. '-.. - Dttnedin, This day, Malone, formerly rider to Captain Hutcheson's race horses, in a letter to the Guardian, denies the Captain's statement to the Jockey Club that h^ dismissed him (Malone) for wilfully pulling a colt, in a jlreviouss race. He sajs 'he was! only dismissed because his services were not required in the winter, and that he was asked to go back. He demands a public apology, otherwise he will have resource to legal proceedings.
