Sir,—Oßserying a paragraph in 'thjrs morning's contemporary, relative to the Parawai Races, I beg to state that I certainly differ with the opinion therein expressed. That is to say, that the Committee have power to alter rules, as was done some" two years ago three times in one week, when they allowed Potentate to run in the. pony race. I now think it is but fair and just to the community at large that preference should be shown to our local horses, so that justice should be meted out to all alike, and no underhand work. Trusting that these few remarks will meet with the Committees' approbation. —I am, &c,
