THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE'S MEETING.
(To the Editor oft the Evening Star.) Sib,—l quite concur with your cone* spondent, " A Member of a School Committee," in reference to the notice signed "A Porter" in yesterday's Advertiser. Believing that such notice is a gross piece of impertinence, I shall certainly not attend the meeting. Allow me to cafl your attention to the leader in the Advertiser this morning, in which they say "we have since received a communication from which we gather precisely what is to be done." For the editorial "we," I would ask, should we not read "Mr Berry" (the reporter of the Advertiser and the Hon. Secretary of the Kaueranga School Committee.). If that gentleman knows "precisely" what is to be done, why did he allow Mi Porter to convene a meeting of the School Committees in so offensive a manner? Another Member of a School Committee.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib,—Permit me through your columns to be£ the Parawai householders and other Education Batepayers not to pledgt themselves in any way to persons who may solicit votes for the proposed Committee, for the whole of the Thames district, to be elected on the 18th instant. Let voters first hear the views of their local Committee upon this subject. A Pabawai Ratepayer.
