SOUTH DEVON.
We are informed by the manager, Mr John Noble, that he has had five tons of stuff crushed at the Hapo Creek battery, and tho result has proved satisfactory— being Bozs. Sdwts. melted cold, besides 3ozs. sdwts. from about 321bs. of specimens. The leader from which this has been obtained is a new one, in a drive running nearly due east and west, in the new prospecting tunnel, and averages from three to six inches in width. It is proposed to work out stuff on this leader fora larger crushing by Christmas, and should it maintain the above-stated return in a greater parcel, the Company intend then to proceed vigorously with the opening up of the claim. The South British adjoins, and there is no doubt that it is but a matter of time to prove that that Company also has the same run of golden leaders struck in the South Devon.
