BIRD IN HAND.
£ The crushing for this company at the Una battery proceeds with 15 stampers, and since Monday the take of amalgam from the plates is first-class, stowing a great improvement upon what was reduced last week. At the Imperial Crown battery 20 stampers ore at work; the show •and take of amalgam is very satisfactory. The recent crushing from the cross lode did not yield as well as could be desired, therefore, after a good trial lot had gone through, the manager discontinued it. However, the appearance of the lode is so • satisfactory both in nature and size, that it is intended to prospect it thoroughly ; else it is given %p for a bad job.
